The name says it all... Great chicken for as long as I can remember, always had excellent HOMEMADE banana pudding but not anymore... It's commercially made so not as good as it was in days gone by

This is the place that you go when you have to have home cooked (well restaurant cooked) southern fried deliciousness. It'ss not fancy. The prices are great. the staff is fun. only four stars because the banana pudding was a disappointment but you know I've had the best banana pudding ever, and it's hard to come up to that standard. I would recommend this place.oh they do take out family size portions in case you just want to eat at your own table instead of theirs.

We ordered fish the wait was worth it because the fish and sides were made fresh. The fish was very hot and fresh...will return sooon

Great food Great Experience there today. We stopped in there to meet family members for the first time, passing through from Myrtle Beach vacay!!!

I can't get enough of their corn beard, so moist and buttery, I have had the chicken on to their pork chops, hat off to the cook.

Ordered 32 strips, 2 gallons of drinks here for a party. Gave them a whole day in advance to get this done. Pull up here and they never put the order in. Not only that, I was on hold for over 10 minutes. The boy working the window was to busy on his phone. The mananger was not very apologetic nor offered a discount or even refund on the order, not that I was looking for any of that. Also, i kept being asked if I was sure it was this location several times. Even though it was verified on last nights order. I'm not the type to make a big deal about this stuff, but it's hard to hold back when you got a staff that doesn't care for their customers. Would not order again from this location. That's what happens when you hire a high school kid who's there just for the money.

One of the originals in the area since mid-1900's. Great food, good prices, and good staff. A go-to for my family's meals for over 50 years. Favorites are their pot roast, chicken fingers with homemade honey mustard, HUSHPUPPIES, and of course their fried chicken. All of their sides are like your grandma made 'em!

Always good. Can't remember a time when there was no Wife Saver and can't remember ever getting a bad meal. Eating there all my life

Well, I only got a veggie plate very small small serving best to order separate get more veggie plate that's a half of a cooking spoon for too much money, just ordered singles

I love the food here. The consistency of the potatoe salad is not always the same. Sometimes it's good and sometimes, it's just ok

Country fried steak is soooooo good!

Needs a huge cleaning... the area near tea dispenser (cup lids tray) was dirty from sticky tea residue at 11am which means it wasn’t cleaned from the day before. Salt and pepper shakers sticky.. don’t think I’ll return...

This wife saver served THE worst fried chicken I've ever had. It for sure tasted as if the grease was a few weeks old. The mac n cheese was cold. The coleslaw had zero flavor. The lady that took the order got it all wrong, a simple chicken order. The best thing about my order was the hush puppies and even they were cold. I am not sure how anyone could enjoy this location. The whole dining area was dirty. Not one table was clean, I had to wipe it myself before I could sit. The sweet tea container was leaking on the floor and it took the about 20 minutes to get it all cleaned. I do hope they were having a bad Saturday and it was just a fluke... I know my absence won't make or break them but I will never return. I do like the one in grovetown...

My daughter loves the mini corn dog kids meal. They have that one here. I love their fried chicken and chicken fingers. Oh and can't forget the naner pudding!

Not a place to stop if you are in a hurry.

I had to give it 1 star to make a rating. I would have put zero. So the food that was received was not worth the price paid at all. If you want wife saver go to another location besides here. They just give ya any ole thing! The broccoli casserole was mush and stank. The mac and cheese was watery and the chicken wasn't seasoned. The cornbread was the star of the dish. My sis stomach started hurting after she ate there food.

Beat turnip greens I have ever had! Chicken tenders was perfect too. Great service, especially by the staff members cleaning up the tables.

I dropped in to get a couple sides to complete my dinner. Unfortunately when I got home and check my sides I had okra that had been over fried and crunchy the macaroni and cheese was perfect. Very disappointed in whoever put that okra in the bag that okra should have been discarded.

The food is delicious, hands down I recommend you to go here if you haven’t been!

Great downhome local flavor that's convenient and at a good price.

Poor customer service. No friendly welcome or smiles when you walk in and when your order is taken. I don't know why older augustans like it so much, good is not that good and it is overpriced. The restaurant itself is dumpy looking. Restrooms are not well kept either. My last visit convinced me that I don't need this place and I will spend my money anywhere else.

Got lunch on May 25, 2020, everything was fried so hard. Couldn’t eat it. The gizzards was so hard. And the shrimp was fried so hard the shrunk. I will stick with North Augusta Location.

Always good down home cooking, wife saver on Washington Rd has been around since I was a child growing up in the Columbia County area and the people that works there have the same mindset, customer friendly and professional, always ready to please above and beyond. My favorite place to dine inn.

You MUST try the chicken strips and mac n cheese. It's like your Grandma made it (maybe better...we won't tell!)

Food is good service can use improvement. Called in my order and the young lady seemed inconvenienced by my call. I arrive to pick up my order and its chaos! This is why she hurried me off the phone, it was playtime. Employees seemed confused and the lady ahead of me had waited 30 minutes for fries. Finally she just wanted her money back, I would have done the same only 25 minutes sooner. The manager was in the lobby greeting an old friend but finally came back to work and assisted the woman whose food was surely cold by then. Couldn't help but notice the number of teens working that day and thinking where's management? Nothing wrong with employing teens but like toddlers don't turn your back on them for too long.Noticing the other comments are regarding customer service. Fairly positive this is due to the number of teen workers not being experienced in the service industry.

Great place, great food. Had been a long time since I've been to one, as they have cut out locations in this area. Used to go all the time. Chicken strips are very good, tender and juicy. Macaroni and cheese is oh so velvety. Cornbread, served 2 pieces, was warm and tasty. Reminded me of why I liked this place years ago.

If you come here, only order the chicken items. My wife had livers and a cinnamon apple, and she said it was very dry and apple was kind of slimy. My meal was fine and fairly priced but the overall quality of her meal was low and wasn't great. Would hesitate to come again, probably not worth your time unless you get the tenders or fried chicken.

I recently gave a raving review. It must of been a fluke. Last night was nothing of the experience I had the first time around. This was the biggest waste of time and money. Very disappointing.

It’s a Saturday afternoon around 430 and I was wanted some fired chicken so decided to stop. My biscuits are cold my mash potatoes are cold My chicken seems like it’s been sitting in a warmer for a while and the only thing I can say was hot was my mac & cheese and the french fries that the other person I’m with ordered. The employees are really just sitting around one is vaping and two are just sitting around in a chair watching a basketball game. Was not impressed this Saturday so you got a one star for my visit!😡

The chicken strips were yellow and had a weird taste. The mac and cheese was curdled with a unappealing texture. The service was terrible and was being run by children that cared more for their personal visitors than their customers. The counters and tables were sticky. Overall experience was bad. Will not be back.

I used to love this location but the service has gone downhill. I called in an order this morning and they told me it would be ready in 15 minutes. I arrived about 25 minutes later and they hadn’t even started putting it together. It wasn’t busy at all but I waited another 20 minutes before I got the food - some of it must have been sitting out for a while because the fried chicken was cold.

Came in after 6 pm on a Sunday. Was with a co-worker. Counter service was slow. Then waiting over 30 minutes for food, and part of it was missing. Mashed potatoes were cold. Missing fried okra, and banana pudding. It seemed like it was all young people running the place. Not too satisfied with the service. This was my 1st time there, my co-worker recommended the place as he is from Georgia.

I like their food. But my 4th time coming here I notice they gave me leftovers because my fried chicken wasn't fresh and hot it usually is, the sides were filled halfway in these tiny cups and not worth the money I paid, so I took it back asked for fresh food. Also there were a lot of young kids standing around the back playing etc, the young lady that took the food back(a big black lady with heavily concealed eyebrows,) acted as if she was concerned then I sat and literally watch her put that same chicken back in the fryer this time the chicken was so crunchy and disgusting they took the food back refried my chicken and gave it back how disgusting and rude but I took it and didn't make a big deal because I was just over it. People must know what you serve comes back around so you can be nasty towards people but you get eventually what you give

Always delicious! One of the best places in the Augusta area. It’s home cooking served as quick as a fast food. Wow!
